TikTok for business: what to post and how often

A guide for businesses that want to start on TikTok, or already post but lose viewers after a few seconds.

Business account and licensed music

A business posts from a business account. It gives you analytics and business tools, but in the app it only offers the Commercial Music Library: tracks licensed for use by businesses. Popular trending songs are often not there.

  • Account analytics

You see how many people watched to the end, where the views came from and when your viewers are on the app.

  • Commercial Music Library

Its sounds are licensed for TikTok. We plan each video to work on one of them, or without sound, on captions.

  • Profile bio

One sentence on what you do and for whom, plus a link to order or get in touch. A viewer arriving from a video should know where they are.

What to post: series your business can keep up

A series is a repeatable idea you can shoot every week. Viewers recognise it in the first second, and you don't start from zero each time.

  • How we make it

The process from order to pickup: baking, sewing, fitting, repairing. Viewers stay to see the result.

  • Before and after

Renovation, restoration, cleaning, a haircut. The result in the first second, the way there after.

  • A customer's question

One question you hear at the counter or in messages, and a short answer. Easy to save and send on.

  • New in or seasonal

A new product, a menu change, open slots. The specifics and a date, no long intro.

  • Behind the scenes

Opening up in the morning, packing orders, the team at work. It shows the people customers buy from.

  • A tip in a few seconds

How to choose, how to store, what to avoid. One tip per video.

your.cafe

Morning coffee, no rush.

Three videos from a series for a café, a bakery and a workshop. Each has one idea, captions in the middle band of the frame and an ending with one call to action.

  • The first second shows something happening
  • Captions land on the rhythm of the shots
  • The ending says what to do next

How to build a TikTok video

  1. 1

The first second shows motion or a result

Something is already happening: hands at work, a finished product, a question on screen. Save the greeting and logo for the end.

  2. 2

    Captions in the middle band

The buttons cover the right edge, the caption and sound name cover the bottom. Keep text in the middle of the frame, big enough to read on a phone in a second.

  3. 3

It works with the sound off

Sound adds to a video but doesn't carry it. Everything important is in the picture and the captions.

  4. 4

    A change every few seconds

A new shot, a new caption or movement in the frame. A long shot with no change is where viewers swipe away.

  5. 5

One call to action at the end

Order for tomorrow, book, message us. Repeat it in the caption in plain words.

  6. 6

A caption in your customers' words

People also use TikTok as a search engine. Use the words customers search with in the caption and on screen: the service, the product, the city.

How often to post on TikTok

The same rule as for Instagram reels: a steady rhythm you can keep, not bursts. This is how many videos a month each plan includes:

One video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

One idea can work on several platforms, but each gets its own file. Sounds from TikTok's Commercial Music Library are licensed for TikTok only, so the other versions get a different track.

PlatformWhat changes in that version
TikToka sound from the Commercial Music Library, a caption with the words customers search for
Instagram Reelsa cover that reads in the profile grid, a sound licensed for Instagram, caption and hashtags
YouTube Shortsa title that says what the video is about, because Shorts also show up in search results
Facebook Reelsthe same file as Instagram, a caption suited to the business page

No version carries another app's watermark.

Questions about TikTok

Can a business use popular music on TikTok?

In the app, a business account gets the Commercial Music Library. Popular tracks outside it often can't be used. So we pick sounds from that library or music licensed for commercial use, and plan each video to work without sound too.

Do I have to show my face on TikTok?

No. A video can be built from motion: typography, your logo, product photos and short phone clips. That is how Reelelle makes reels, with no on-site filming.

Is TikTok worth it for a local business?

Yes, if your customers are there and you can keep a steady rhythm. Series that show the process, the result and answers to customers' questions work best. The report after three months shows whether the platform is worth keeping.

Can I post the same video on TikTok and Instagram?

Yes, as separate files: no watermark, with sound and a caption suited to each platform. At Reelelle every reel is prepared in the format of the platform it is going to.

Do I have to film anything?

No. We build reels from motion: typography, your logo, product photos and graphics. If you have short phone clips, we are happy to use them, but they are not needed. We don't come over to film.

Do you guarantee views or followers?

No. Nobody can honestly promise that, because it depends on the platform's algorithm and on your offer. We guarantee what is in the plan: the number of posts, their quality, the deadlines from the plan and a weekly check-in. The report shows what works, and we adjust the next month based on it.

Show us your accounts. We'll tell you what to change in the motion.

Book a short call. We'll look at your profiles, tell you which plan makes sense and show you how a first reel could look.
